Hello, I’m Kate. I am a level 5 advanced clinical massage therapist, with additional training in pregnancy, postnatal, hot stones, facial massage and Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) disorder.
I began my journey as a massage therapist after experiencing a prolapse following the birth of my second child. I remember being horrified both when I discovered the prolapse and when my GP’s practice nurse presented me with a ring pessary which just looked like an enormous shower curtain ring. At the time I did not intend to become a massage therapist I just wanted to do normal stuff with my kids without being in pain and weeing myself unexpectedly and I thought learning a bit more about my anatomy might help my addled brain remember which yoga moves helped. Learning how to ease pelvic tension combined with gentle stretches and exercise to build muscle strength has helped me leave the ring pessary and wee accidents in the past. Along the way, I discovered I love being a holistic massage therapist and giving others the care and support which I received on my journey to becoming a mother.
I use techniques drawn from both eastern and western massage traditions including remedial and sports massage techniques, fascial work, deep tissue, trigger point therapy, acupressure, stretching and hot stones to reduce pain and help you relax and de-stress.
My clients include people with stiff necks and shoulders, low back pain, leg and hip muscle tightness, frozen shoulder, aching hands and wrists, and mums who just need an hour of ‘me time’.
Client reviews:
‘Kate’s technique is extremely intuitive and her knowledge of the interconnected nature of the body eye opening. I’ve spent a long time wondering why one side of my body always feels tight and Kate was able to identify the cause within minutes. I couldn’t recommend her more as a massage therapist.’ EH July 2023
